Careers with CD-adapco
es-ice Developer - Plymouth, Michigan or Melville, New York
CD-adapco is a global enterprise providing advanced computationally based engineering solutions for simulating fluid flow, heat transfer, and stress. Our core product is the technology-leading CFD code, STAR-CD. However, the scope of our activities extends beyond CFD software development and CAD-embedded options to encompass a wide range of engineering services in CFD and FEA, training, and the transfer of technology via expert systems.
About the position:
es-ice is a software tool that simplifies the in-cylinder CFD modeling process. Coupled with STAR-CD, it enables the analysis engineer to quickly model the geometry of the air side volume including the manifolds, ports, and combustion chamber, define the boundary and initial conditions, along with the solver parameters, run the solver, and process the results via engine specific post processing.
CD-adapco needs a software developer to work on our pre/post tool for in-cylinder reciprocating engine modeling, es-ice. Areas of evelopment are grid generation and morphing, visualization, GUI, some physical model implementation, etc.
The successful candidate will be expected to:
* Use debuggers and profilers to fix and enhance pre-existing
code
* Work successfully in a Linux and multi-language environment
* Show flexibility in working in meshing, GUI, visualization,
and other
areas as needed
Requirements:
* 3-5 years of software development experience in industry
* Work authorization in the US (OPT, H-1, citizen or permanent
resident)
* Proven expertise in object-oriented C++ software design
for either GUI development, grid generation, or visualization
* An advanced degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering,
or Computer Science
* Demonstrated problem solving skills
* Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively
with colleagues
* Familiarity with any commercial CFD product and reciprocating
internal combustion engines.
