Software Developer - Meshing (Austin, Seattle, State College, Melville)

CD-adapco is looking for highly qualified and motivated candidates to contribute to the development of our next-generation CFD/CAE tool STAR-CCM+. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the architecture and design of the product as well as develop end-user enhancements. The specific area of focus will be the development of mesh generation tools and GUI integration. There are several positions open in the areas of surface preparation, surface meshing and volume meshing (both structured and unstructured).

The preferred location for this job is the CD-adapco development office in Austin, Texas. U.S. Citizenship or permanent resident status is preferred for ITAR and US government related projects.

Job Requirements:

The following will be required of all candidates:

  • MS or equivalent degree in Computer Science and/or Civil, Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
  • Proven expertise in object-oriented C++ software design
  • Experience in mesh generation for CFD/CAE applications
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team to meet project goals

In addition, experience in one or of the following areas is desired:

  • Computation fluid dynamics or related disciplines
  • Usage and development of CAD tools such as Catia, Solidworks, etc.
  • Scientific visualization with OpenGL and/or VTK
  • Software development in Java
  • Client/Server architectures
  • Design and development of architectural components for large scale software systems
  • User interface design/development
  • Parallel programming

Interested candidates must be able to learn new skills quickly, prioritize multiple projects, work independently as well as work effectively as part of a team. Must also be methodical and thorough, innovative, confident and be able to communicate effectively at all levels across the organization.
