About the position:

CD-adapco is looking for a highly qualified and motivated individual to contribute to the development of our next-generation CFD/CAE tool STAR-CCM+. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the architecture and design of the product as well as develop end-user enhancements. The specific area of focus will be the development of tools to support stress analysis for coupled fluid flow, heat transfer and thermal stress as well as fully coupled fluid structure interaction (FSI).

This position will be at the CD-adapco office in the Bellevue, WA near Seattle. US citizenship or Green Card holder is preferred for ITAR and US government related projects.

Job Requirements:

PhD or equivalent degree in Civil, Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering

• A minimum of 15 years of experience in the application of multi-physics CFD in heat transfer
• Experience in the development of computational mechanics tools to support FSI
• Experience in the application of both CFD and FEA.
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent mathematical skills
• Ability to work as part of a team to meet project goals

In addition, we prefer experience in one or more of the following areas is desired:

• ABAQUS CAE, Explicit, and Standard
• NASTRAN MSC or NX-7
• Experience with software development in C++
• Dynamic mesh motion strategies such as ALE and mesh morphing
• Development in Java or Python
• Co-simulation between independent applications (such as MpCCI)
