Senior Technical Specialist - Houston

Position Description

CD-adapco is offering a challenging position working as a Senior Technical Specialist in our Structural/Thermal Engineering Services Group. Projects will include analyzing composite structures using finite element analysis for a variety of clients in the Aerospace and Automotive Industries. Candidate should have proficiency in multiple commercial finite element analysis software programs, as well as moderate programming experience, with proven engineering practice running advanced simulations and analyses addressing real-life problems.

This position will be based out of our Houston, Texas office.

Qualifications:

The following qualifications are desired:

  • PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering or Applied Mechanics
  • Professional licensure and certification encouraged but not required.
  • Past experience with application of advanced analysis tools in performing detailed static and dynamic analyses of complex mechanical assemblies and composite rotating parts.
  • Previous FSI experience is favorable.

The following technical knowledge is a plus:

  • Proficient with both general and special purpose finite element analysis software (NASTRAN, LS-DYNA).
  • Experience with CAD packages (Solidworks, Pro-engineer, Unigraphics etc)
  • Programming experience (Java, Fortran, UNIX etc)
  • Familiarity with CFD analyses/software, particularly STAR products.
