About the position:
CFD
es-ice is a software tool that simplifies the in-cylinder modeling process. Coupled with STAR-CD , it enables the analysis engineer to quickly model the geometry of the air side volume including the manifolds, ports, and combustion chamber, define the boundary and initial conditions, along with the solver parameters, run the solver, and process the results via engine specific post processing.

The successful applicant will learn and apply es-ice and STAR-CD to simulate IC engine flow and combustion. Once proficient in the use of the tools to perform the simulations, the analyst will be placed at a major engine manufacturer to perform similar activities and mentor colleagues in the use of CD-adapco software.

The successful candidate will be expected to: * Learn es-ice and build in-cylinder flow models
* Perform STAR-CD in-cylinder flow simulations
* Develop the skills needed to work independently to support and use STAR-CD and es-ice for in-cylinder process modeling
* Be placed at a major automotive engine research or production engineering group to perform in-cylinder process modeling

Requirements:

* Work authorization in the US (F-1, H-1, citizen or permanent resident)
* Proven expertise in three dimensional modeling and grid generation
* An advanced degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering
* Demonstrated problem solving skills
* Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with colleagues
* Knowledge of IC engine theory and desire to work with virtual engine engineering is a plus
