"The requirement to understand platform behavior in extreme weather conditions has significantly increased. STAR-CCM+ has been used  to evaluate the wind and wave loading on platforms in storm conditions. These analyses allowed platform designers and operators to evaluate different platform configurations without the excessive cost of prototyping."

 

Computational Flow Assurance: Pipeline and Subsea Equipment Thermal Validation and Erosion Modeling - Play animation >>
"Well fluids must be piped through various subsea equipment and across long distances with the equipment and large parts of the pipeline being difficult to access. Hydrate and wax formation and other in-service problems are thus very expensive to remediate.
