FAQ

Can you consult effectively off-site?
Yes, we have a proven record of successful consulting in this way. One of our major clients recently observed that there are more full time analysts in his new vehicle development group sitting at our offices in New York than sitting at his offices in Germany. The world is a much smaller place via email, web conference, and teleconference. You see this in companies all over. We try very hard to create a “we are down the hall” relationship when we work off-site. We offer on-site consulting as well, when appropriate. We have the right staff, in terms of education and experience, to be successful in helping you, regardless of where they are sitting.

Can I send someone to train during the project?
Can you come here?

Of course! We love it when folks come to visit. You can come and sit with us for the whole project if your travel budget allows. We recognize that Technology Transfer is an essential part of our work. We will be involved closely with your engineers throughout the project, transfer all the files, and come to you to explain how to continue the work yourself. The CD adapco offers a wide range of training - from standard open enrollment to excellent on-site one-on-one mentoring.

How do we exchange data?
How about security in sending data?
What format?

We have a secure “blind” FTP site and will use your choice of encryption software if you desire. We can exchange surface data in IGES, VDA, STL, but increasingly can read your native CAD files with our surface translator and repair program.

What are your rates?
We have hourly rates, but due to the high and sometimes unknown computer costs associated with three dimensional CFD and FEA, almost all our jobs are also offered on a fixed price basis. In response to your written workscope, we will provide fixed prices and schedule, so you know exactly what to expect.

Have you validated all this against test data?
Nearly every project we do has some element of validation involved. Some of the analyses we have done have been validated extensively against test data and published. However, the majority of major validation has been as paid projects with clients using their experimental data and that data is proprietary. We will supply you with whatever we have, but for very specific applications, we cannot share specifics with you unless our clients have published the benchmarks themselves.
