Webinars - Batteries
Battery
Systems Modeling for Electric/Hybrid Vehicle Installations
Date and TIme:
December 3, 2009
10am EST
15:00 GMT (London)
16:00 CET (Paris, Berlin, Madrid)
Batteries are one of the key technologies for the success of electric vehicles and thermal management of the battery system is critical to lifetime, durability and safety.
This online webinar will present the developments that CD-adapco is undertaking, together with our partner Bob Spotnitz of Battery Design LLC, to deliver a comprehensive fully coupled flow-thermal-electrochemistry solution to model battery systems from the cell to the pack and full vehicle installation levels.
Guest Speaker: Bob Spotnitz, President
of Battery Design LLC
Industry expert and leading battery system modeler Bob Spotnitz will present
the models that are available for the electro-chemistry of Li-ion cells.
He will be joined by Richard Johns, Automotive Director at CD-adapco, who will
describe the combined flow-thermal-electrochemistry capability that will
be available in STAR-CCM+ and the engineering process necessary to make realistic
calculations of large-scale battery installations.
Because of time limitations this webinar will provide an overview of the technology and process; more detail and demonstration usage will be presented at the STAR Transportation Forum on December 8th and 9th. This event will host over 15 speakers, including alternative energy experts from the major automotive manufacturers.
