Our business requires constant interaction with prospects and customers.  Sales and support positions are the face of our organization.  That said knowledge and professionalism is of paramount importance in earning new business as well as supporting existing business.  Candidates should possess some common attributes:

  • Professional in nature with excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Highly motivated team players, demonstrating a can-do attitude which embraces aggressive sales targets
  • Passionate about technology and solution selling.  CD-adapco doesn’t sell commodity products.  The approach to commodity based typically will prove unsuccessful.
  • Tenacity in prospecting to uncover new business opportunities.  This requires confidence, creativity, endurance, perseverance, and a sense of humor.  This part of selling can be most uncomfortable but is absolutely critical for the success of the individual and success of the company.

Reporting to the regional sales manager, the Account Manager’s responsibilities include:

  • Expanding the use of our core simulation (Computational Fluid Dynamics) software (STAR-CCM+), training and engineering services in specific regions or vertical markets
  • Identify and penetrate new prospects and target key accounts.  Demonstrate creativity to determine different ways to engage new prospects and win business.
  • Work closely with technical support engineers to secure software renewals and a healthy foundation for growth.
  • Articulate face-to-face business solutions through presentations and proposals to engineers, technical staff and senior management at major Fortune 100 and 500 companies.
  • Ability to negotiate solutions that establish long term mutually beneficial outcomes.
  •  Ability to close business to meet quarterly and aggressive annual targets.
  • Provide accurate forecast and business planning to senior management.
  • Excellent time management skills and willingness to travel.

Role:

To grow and sell CD-adapco core CFD software product (STAR-CCM+) and engineering services for the assigned territory and named accounts.

Position requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills - able to give sales presentations to customers/prospects and communicate effectively internally with other account executives and departments
  • An understanding of the CAE market and familiar with the major software vendors in the industry
  • Effective time management skills - ability to multitask and effectively manage own time for prospecting new business, closing business and maintaining existing accounts
  • Proven sales abilities - ability to project manage and drive pre-sales efforts during the sales process to win business
  • Travel as required to meet business objectives - approximately 40% of the time for customer and prospect visits in the assigned territory, sales meetings and tradeshows
  • Achieve sales targets and strategic goals and accurately forecast quarterly software sales
  • Ideally have a Bachelor degree or above in engineering or a technical subject. Candidates with non technical degrees will be considered, but only with a proven track record of selling technical or engineering solutions and an understanding of the industry.
