Position Description

Must have JD or LLM with a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant work experience. Work experience must include working in a contracts or legal department in a corporate business environment in the software vendor industry.  Must be fluent in written and spoken Korean language and have a legal or related degree from Korea with an LLM or equivalent in the US.


A mid-size global supplier of software and engineering services is seeking a full-time Contracts and Legal Services Associate responsible for contracts administration and other related legal matters for its business units worldwide. 


The candidate must have a solid background in legal concepts, practices and procedures in private and public sector contract administration with experience in reviewing, drafting and negotiation of contracts.  Must have experience in reviewing and drafting contracts and legal documents in Korean.  Must have experience in drafting and developing new contract templates to meet business arrangements, and modification to contract clauses.  Intellectual property experience is a plus. Typical contracts for drafting or review include agreements for software license purchases, reseller arrangements, product development, non-disclosures, consulting/technical services, royalty arrangements, vendor agreements, purchase order terms and conditions, office leases, amendments to agreements, etc.  The candidate will also be required to respond to various legal related matters and corporate projects (i.e. government regulations, compliance training, document maintenance, contracts record retention) for the Korea offices.                                                                                           


Minimum Education Requirements and Experience: 

  • JD Degree with a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant work experience
  • Strong English verbal and written communication skills required
  • Fluent Korean verbal and written skills required
  • Ability to multi-task in a high volume environment
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Take initiative and good follow-up to swiftly conclude matters
  • Ability to timely respond to customers and employees in a positive and professional manner.
  • Problem analysis and ability to recommend working solutions
  • Must be willing to travel to Korea offices two or three times per year
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, Oracle.
