CD-adapco unveils latest version of industry leading engine simulation toolkit
New York and London. January 11, 2010
CD-adapco is pleased to announce the release of new versions of STAR-CD and es-ice, which together make up leading industrial toolkit for engine simulation.
“With an ever-increasing emphasis on emissions and energy sustainability – from legislators and consumers alike – challenges for Powertrain teams continue to grow, Whether it’s a new fuel, new combustion model or a new lightweight material, realistic simulation is an integral tool in successfully bringing new technologies to market” said CD-adapco’s Director for the Automotive Industry Dr Richard Johns. “As the long-time leading provider of CFD technology to the automotive industry, with over two decades of intake-to-tailpipe industrial know-how, CD-adapco is fully dedicated to helping our customers to meet these challenges.”
Together, es-ice and STAR-CD have become the solution of choice for automotive engineers engaged in ICE development.
STAR-CD V4.12
STAR-CD is replete with physics models specifically developed for efficiently simulating combustion, multiphase sprays and liquid films, heat and mass transfer, transient and turbulence effects, and moving boundaries.
Principle new ICE related features of STAR-CD V4.12 include:
es-ice V2.16
es-ice automates setting up and running the sophisticated moving-mesh technology required for engine simulation. It automatically produces a parameterized meshed template that can be altered for specific engine configurations.
Enhancements to es-ice V2.16 include:
