CD-adapco announces the release of STAR-CAD Series V4.02, the most powerful upfront flow and thermal simulation tool, embedded inside the major 3D-CAD packages.

This new version of the STAR-CAD Series for the Windows 32-bit platform includes: STAR-CAT5 for CATIA V5, STAR-Pro/E for Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire, STAR-NX for NX and STAR-Works for SolidWorks.

Upfront simulation is a competitive necessity today, to confirm design assumptions and predict product performance early in the product design process. STAR-CAD Series V4.02 is packed with new features that broaden the spectrum of solution possibilities, such as the addition of new boundary conditions and external thermal treatments. User productivity is enhanced by a new volume meshing strategy for assemblies, faster mesh generation and solver speeds, and improvements to the turbulence modeling that reduce grid sensitivity. The reporting of engineering quantities has been improved with the addition of HTML based reporting. Interactive, 3D results files can now be sent direct to your manager or client with a freeware visualization utility, enabling the fast and efficient communication of flow simulation data.
