Free Webinar on STAR-CCM+ and the Value of Computer-Aided
Engineering in Education.
London and New York, January 20, 2006.
CD-adapco is excited to welcome you to a free webinar, highlighting how computer-aided engineering (CAE) can enhance learning at your university. Dr. Sergio Perez, from the United States Merchant Marine Academy, will discuss how his students gain from using STAR-CCM+, CD-adapco’s latest flow simulation solver. Embedding a tool such as STAR-CCM+ in engineering education can benefit your students both now and in the future.
CD-adapco Webinar: STAR-CCM+ and the Value of Computer-Aided
Engineering in Education
Date: Friday, February 3
Time: 2:00 pm EST, 11:00 am PST
Presenters:
Dave Neidhart, University Program Coordinator, CD-adapco
Dr. Sergio Perez, United States Merchant Marine Academy,
Kings Point, NY
Ranga Sivaji, Support Engineer, CD-adapco
STAR-CCM+ is fast becoming a vital asset in research and development across industry. Giving your students access to this commercially used tool will help prepare them as the engineers of tomorrow. As they strive to understand engineering concepts, many students have responded positively to a hands-on teaching style that uses the visual simulation of physical principles. Additionally, involvement in various areas of CAE, such as design, structural analysis, and fluid dynamics, will prepare students as they graduate and enter industry. Due to increasing economic demands, managers in the Automotive, Aerospace, Marine, Defense, Power generation and Biomedical industries, to name only a few fields, highly value job candidates with diversified skill-sets in experimental and simulated engineering.
Dr. Perez will discuss how STAR-CCM+ has been implemented in his curriculum at the US Merchant Marine Academy, and how the solver’s user-friendliness and robustness has benefited his students’ learning. Also, Support Engineer Ranga Sivaji from CD-adapco will be available to answer any specific questions you may have about the technical strengths of STAR-CCM+.
