CD-adapco to show how Flow, Thermal, and Stress Simulation drives innovation in PLM, at 2nd Annual European PLM Summit, 26th - 27th June, ExCeL, London, UK
| London and New-York June 20, 2006. |
CD-adapco announces that it will be exhibiting its full range of ground breaking PLM-compatible technology (Computer-Aided Engineering or CAE software) at the forthcoming 2nd Annual European PLM Summit, 26th - 27th June, ExCeL, London, UK (https://www.plmsummit.com). Daratech ranks CAE at 25% of overall PLM industry spend and the fastest growing component of PLM.
CD-adapco's STAR-CAD Series range of products were the first to embed industrial strength Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) technology into major CAD and PLM environments. Daratech also ranks CFD as the fastest growing component of CAE. By embedding flow and heat transfer simulation within the PLM process, CD-adapco's software empowers engineers and designers to optimize performance of their products before even the first prototypes are available. This PLM-embedded approach leads to better designed products which have a significantly reduced time to market.
VIASYS healthcare used STAR-Works, CD-adapco's PLM-embedded tool for Solidworks, to optimize the pressure required to drive an infant ventilation mask. VIASYS Healthcare's Steve Han explains: “In three days we were able to reduce the required upstream pressure by 48%. This level of improvement previously took approximately 1 year to achieve. STAR-Works saved us $250,000 in physical testing alone, and paid for itself in three days!” The large reduction in feed pressure has significantly increased the saleability of the product, with a potential trebling of sales volume which could lead to a top-line revenue increase of approximately $16 million.
