CDa-acces: new combustion
group
July 31, 2003
Based in Tulsa, Oklahoma, CDa-acces is the latest company
to join CD-adapco. Its ‘acces’ acronym stands
for ‘Advanced Combustion & Chemical Engineering
Solutions”.
CDa-acces has two primary missions. Firstly, it will provide
timely and comprehensive computational based engineering
solutions to meet the needs of the Chemical and Hydrocarbon
Process Industry (CPI/HPI); and secondly, it will be the
driving force behind CD-adapco’s development of state-of-the
art Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software for that
industry. CDa-acces’ strategy includes forming mutually
beneficial alliances with its key industrial clients.
As a specialized consulting group, CDa-acces employs highly
educated and dedicated professionals with a combined experience
of more than fifty years in solving problems associated
with combustion and chemically reacting flow systems. Founding
members, Joseph D. Smith, Ph.D, Mike Henneke, Ph.D.P.E.,
Eric Hixson, P.E., Rajesh Rawat, Ph.D are well established
experts in this industry.
Joseph Smith, President of CDa-acces, says:
“
Our future plans include offering total process simulation
based solutions to our customers. Through close integration
between CFD and Process Simulation packages (e.g., Aspen,
HySim, gPROMS, etc.), we will produce and offer general
engineering models to assist engineers with full plant
optimization and analysis studies. Given CDa-acces’ broad
industrial experience, we believe we are well suited to
supply these services to our clients in the CPI/HPI. In
the past, this service may have been provided by in-house
support groups. In today’s world, out-sourcing has
left many large companies needing these services, but are
no longer able to provide it themselves. Instead, they
now opt to hire this work from external consulting groups.
CDa-acces expects to fulfill this need in the future.”
