Renault and CD-adapco: A Winning Partnership!
New York and London, October 16, 2005.
CD-adapco is proud to congratulate their friends and partners of the Renault F1 Team, on a perfect season in 2005. Congratulations to the whole team for both Fernando Alonso's record breaking first FIA Formula One Drivers' World Championship win and the FIA Formula One World Constructors’ Championship of 2005.
After dominating the early season with seven impressive victories, Alonso started the Brazilian Grand Prix knowing that he had to finish in third place or higher in order to secure his record breaking first world title. This was followed up by an outstanding victory at the Chinese Grand Prix, where the Renault F1 Team won the FIA Formula One World Constructors’ Championship. The constructors’ championship means so much to the team, not just at the circuit but back at Enstone and Viry where people have worked with such dedication throughout the season. This win was the recognition of all the work they have done, and we send our congratulations to them.
CD-adapco has been suppliers of advanced CAE software to the Renault F1 Team since its inception in 2001. The RS25 engine, and R25 chassis are designed with the aid of CD-adapco's world leading Computational Fluid Dynamics software STAR-CD and STAR-CCM+.
CD-adapco is easily the most successful CFD supplier in Formula 1. Of the 660 points awarded this season an incredible 486 have been awarded to teams that use STAR-CD for aerodynamic or engine simulation.
