Client-Server Architecture

STAR-CCM+ works with a light java client that runs on the user’s desktop machine, connected to the server that runs on the same or another machine (e.g. a cluster).

This delivers a number of benefits:
Using just a laptop, users can view results, start/stop a calculation, or make set-up changes to a case with millions of cells, running on a large cluster.

The pre/post-processor is an integral part of the solver.  Changes made in the client (e.g. turbulence model or boundary condition) are instantly reflected in the solver. Conversely, an updated the flow field can be visualized at each iteration, with no additional overhead.

Object-Oriented Programming

The use of Object-Oriented (OO) programming makes it the ideal environment for our world-leading development team to implement new features and fix bugs.  STAR-CCM+ is the fastest developing code on the market, with a significant new release occurring every four months.
