CD-adapco CFD Training Courses

es-ice New User Training Course Description

Course duration: 5 days
Course schedule: every 6 months in London, Nuremberg, and North America or as needed

Course description

es-ice (Expert System Internal Combustion Engines) is a meshing and analysis tool developed and used by CD-adapco to simplify the meshing and analysis setup for transient in-cylinder flow and combustion calculations for reciprocating engines. This course is intended to provide users with the ability to use es-ice to model realistic engine geometries.

Who should attend

Any user new to simulating reciprocating engine in-cylinder processes with es-ice.

Course Aims and Prerequisites

This course is an introduction to in-cylinder modeling with es-ice and STAR-CD. Upon completion of the course, users will have all of the tools needs to generate models with es-ice for their engine geometries, set up simple simulations, perform STAR-CD analyses, and post process their results. Basic pro-STAR and STAR-CD abilities are necessary to participate in this course. The key abilities being mouse driven plotting functionality, understanding the boolean set manipulations, NavCenter basics, and transient analysis problem setup.
