Compressible Flow Analysis

Course Duration: 0 Days

Who Should Attend

This course is intended for engineers and scientists involved in the design and analysis of aircraft, rockets, nozzles or other high-speed flow applications. Examples include flow around a missile, in a nozzle and over an airfoil. Prior experience with STAR-CCM+ is helpful, but is not required.

Course Description

The course begins with a lecture discussing STAR-CCM+ analysis capabilities for compressible flow, including best practices for models and mesh design, boundary conditions and solution control settings. This is followed by two (or three, time permitting) workshops illustrating the use of STAR-CCM+ for common compressible flow applications.

Course Content

Lecture: Compressible Flow Modeling in STAR-CCM+ Workshop 1: High-Speed Flow around a Generic Tactical Missile Workshop 2: Supersonic Flow in a Converging-Diverging Nozzle Workshop 3: Transonic Flow Over an Airfoil
