Computational Simulation of Fluid-Structure Interactions with STAR-CCM+

Course Duration: 2 Days

Prerequisites

None

Who Should Attend

Engineers desiring to add the effects of inter-dependencies between the fluid and solid regions in their simulations. Attendees should have a working knowledge of STAR-CCM+. Prior knowledge of Abaqus would be beneficial, but not required.

Course Description

The course will cover the following aspects of FSI via a mixture of lectures, demos and tutorials:

  • STAR-CCM+'s Finite Volume Thermal Stress and Structural Stress Analysis
  • Coupling of STAR-CCM+ and Abaqus for
    • One-Way Coupling for Thermal Stress Analysis
    • Tight-Coupling for Thermal Stress Analysis
    • Tight-Coupling for Structural Analysis
  • Coupling of STAR-CCM+ to other FEA Codes
