Course Duration: 0 Days
Who Should Attend
This course is intended for any engineer involved in the analysis of the motion of rigid bodies whose motions are controlled or influenced by the flow around and/or through them. Examples include flow-induced piping vibrations, aerospace vehicles and rotating machinery. Prior experience with STAR-CCM+ is helpful, but is not required.
Course Description
The course begins with a lecture describing the type of applications that can be treated using multi-DOF analyses, and the STAR-CCM+ capabilities available to support such analyses. This is followed by two (or three, time permitting) workshops illustrating the use of these capabilities.
Course Content
Lecture: Introduction to Multi-DOF Analysis (DFBI) Workshop 1: 2-DOF Analysis of Vortex-Induced Vibration of a Tube in Crossflow Workshop 2: 1-DOF Embedded Motion Analysis of a Paddle Wheel Workshop 3: 2-DOF Morphing Motion Analysis of Vortex-Induced Vibration of a Tube in Crossflow
