This course is intended for any engineer interested in utilizing the new CAD modeling capabilities of STAR-CCM+ to create parametric design variants or fully build complete designs within STAR-CCM+.

Course Description

The course begins with exemplifying the current features of the 3D-CAD modeler inside STAR-CCM+. During the following workshops and demos you will get a full overview on the strength of this tool. Additionally the utility of the parts infrastructure as well as template simulation files will be demonstrated.

Course Content

The first workshop starts with constructing the geometry for an external aerodynamics calculation, constrain and parameterize it and get a first glimpse of the power with ease that design parameters offer. A second example will show how the full scriptability of the 3D-CAD tool can be used to automatically perform a full design study within STAR-CCM+. The next workshop shows how to import a solid model, extract the interior fluid domain and finally to extend the design within the 3D-CAD tool.
