Who Should Attend

This course is intended for University students performing external aerodynamics analysis for academic design competitions (FSAE, EcoCar Challenge, etc) or graduate studies. Attendees will learn how to efficiently and more accurately predict external airflow for ground vehicles. Prior experience with STAR-CCM+ is preferred, but is not required.

Course Description

The course begins with a lecture discussing STAR-CCM+ analysis capabilities for external aerodynamics, including best practices for models and mesh design, boundary conditions and solution control settings. This is followed by a workshop illustrating the use of STAR-CCM+ for analysis on simplified race car geometry.
